Edmonton stabbing - More weapon laws not the answer, more weapons is

The motiveless murder of a student in Edmonton by a gang of youths highlights why your right to carry a weapon for self-defence is in desperate need of legislative backing. Attacks such as this are common and can happen to anyone. There is no means of reasoning with such callous evil.

Student stabbed to death in London
"Local MPs Nick de Bois, Enfield North, and David Burrowes, Enfield Southgate, areon Thursday due to meet the justice secretary, Ken Clarke, to press for an amendment to a parliamentary motion to impose a six-month mandatory sentence on any adult caught in possession of a knife or bladed weapon. They want the sentencing powers to extend to those aged under 18."

The simple fact that these youths chose to break the law regarding murder dismisses any notion that they would be deterred by a sentencing increase regarding carrying a knife. The only means to cut down on such attacks is to allow the law-abiding the choice and ability to defend themselves using practical personal defence weapons, such as a handgun.

At least now we can sleep safe in the knowledge..

Being hailed by the Met as a "hugely successful operation"  we see an "arsenal" of decaying flintlock pistols and flare signal launchers formally belonging to a collector of old curiosities... rather, 'gangs', taken off the streets  - obviously an operation needing over 30 officers off the streets to attend to!

Shooting events excluded from children's Olympic ticket giveaway

The decision by London Olympic organisers to exclude shooting events from a children's free ticket giveaway highlights the increasing madness and hysteria directed at the lawful users of firearms. Giving children the chance to see these tools being used in a professional manor by world-class shooters can only dull their association with criminal misuse, which of course the establishment and anti-gun lobbyists want to maintain and further indoctrinate into everyone at an early age.

This decision is sure to backfire and will ensure the exposure of the irrationality and madness of those involved in drawing up these polices.

Petitions

Our petitions are live and can be signed via the links below. 100,000 signatures will make a petition eligible for debate in parliament.

RECOGNISE THE ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO HOME DEFENCE.

We, the undersigned, believe that the law regarding self-defence should be altered to make explicit that a householder is entitled to use any and all measures against an unlawful intruder within their home without fear of prosecution or any requirement to demonstrate proportionality or 'reasonableness' of response.

PETITION TO REPEAL THE 1997 AND 1988 FIREARMS ACTS.

We, the undersigned, petition the UK government to repeal both the 1997 and 1988 Firearms Acts. We believe that law-abiding people should be allowed to own handguns as well as other firearms prohibited under these laws, should they wish to do so.

These acts were knee-jerk reactions to tragic incidents and have done nothing to decrease violent crime. We also petition the government to amend firearms legislation so that all applicants for Firearms Certificates (FAC's) are treated in the same, fair manner.

We believe that the police should have no discretion to deny an FAC to any adult unless he or she has a conviction for a serious violent crime (such as robbery, rape or murder) nor should they have the authority to revoke a FAC unless a person is convicted of a serious crime of violence resulting in a prison sentence.

An appeal procedure (heard by a jury) should be introduced so that any ex-offender has the chance to obtain an FAC, regardless of what crimes he committed and when.

PETITION TO LEGALISE NON LETHAL WEAPONS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.

We, the undersigned, petition the UK government to repeal all laws that prohibit the sale, possession and carrying of non-lethal weapons in the United Kingdom.

Crime is rising and law-abiding people have no means of defence against armed and violent aggressors. This is unacceptable and needs to be changed immediately.

We believe that self-defence sprays such as CS gas and pepper spray should be legally available so that citizens can carry them in public for personal protection, along with electronic stun devices such as tasers and stun guns.

The recent cut in police officer numbers makes this all the more essential as the police's response to 999 calls is going to be much slower now than it ever was before.

Almost all EU countries allow their citizens to have an effective means of self-defence and the UK should change its laws with immediate effect.
